This is a modified version of the parent compound synephrine- a known potent stimulant and fat-burning agent-however this version is shown to produce even better effects due to its ability to better interact with adrenergic beta receptors', with an emphasis on the beta-3 receptor. In a general overview of the body, you have two classes of adrenergic receptors; alpha and beta. Alpha receptors are typically involved in energy conservation pathways while beta receptors are involved in energy burning. Isopropylnorsynpherine has a high affinity for adrenergic beta receptors, especially that of the beta-3 receptor responsible for the release of energy from fat tissue. In 1 study it was shown to be 60% more effective. It is classified as a phenylethylamine due to its backbone, so not only does it raise energy levels and fat burning, but it exhibits other benefits this class of compounds bring along including bronchodilation and increased energy, mood, and focus due to similar effects to catecholamines dopamine, epinephrine, and norepinephrine. The addition of the isopropyl group is believed to aid in the effectiveness of the compound as the group sterically blocks monoamine oxidase from breaking down the compound before it exerts its effects.
