Yohimbe is an herbal supplement. It has a long history of use in West African traditional medicine to improve sexual performance.
More recently, yohimbe has been sold as a dietary supplement with a wide variety of common uses. These range from treating medical conditions like erectile dysfunction to aiding in weight loss. The supplement is derived from the bark of an evergreen tree found in western and central Africa called the Pausinystalia johimbe.
It is often sold in capsule or tablet form and marketed as yohimbe bark extract or yohimbine, the active ingredient in yohimbe bark. Many believe that yohimbine works by blocking receptors in the body called alpha-2 adrenergic receptors. (Source) These receptors play an important role in inhibiting erections. Therefore, yohimbine is thought to help alleviate erectile dysfunction by blocking the receptors responsible for preventing erections (Source).
Yohimbine may also promote the release of nitric oxide. This could lead to the dilation of blood vessels and an increase in blood flow to sexual organs (Source). Namely, rauwolscine antagonizes alpha-2 adrenergic receptors and stimulates serotonin receptors. How does this enhance fat burning?

Rauwolscine is a stereoisomer of yohimbine, which is why the compound is commonly referred to as alpha-yohimbine. Rauwolscine is naturally occurring in rauwolfia vomitoria and functions remarkably similar to “standard” yohimbine.

Well, fat cells (adipocytes) have alpha and beta receptors. When fat-burning catecholamines (adrenaline and noradrenaline) bind to beta receptors, fat cells become “unlocked” and release their stored fatty acids into the bloodstream where they can be taken up by cells and used for energy.

However, when these chemicals bind to alpha receptors, fat burning is blunted. As an alpha-receptor antagonist, rauwolscine (alpha-yohimbine) binds to the alpha receptors, “clogging” them and preventing adrenaline and noradrenaline from binding. This allows greater amounts of the fat-releasing chemicals to bind to beta receptors and rev up the fat burning process.

NOTE: Advanced research of this compound is recommended prior to purchase. A scoop is provided, however, a milligram scale is recommended for accurate measurements.

Good quality

I tried both Yohimbine forms here (HCL and Alpha). Both are really good. This HCL form is much stronger per milligram but they feel a little different that's hard to explain. A stack with both of them is cool. I've been seeing a lot of prepworkouts doing this to balance out the energy while adding some nice fat burning properties to the mix. Handle this responsibly. The scoop is tiny but you really only need a few milligrams to notice a difference.

Yohimbine HCL

Product is definitely legit. You absolutely feel it even at just 3mg. Highest yielding Yohimbine HCl out there. Nice smooth uplifting thermogenic feeling. Nice libido boost also.

Yohimbine HCL

I've only been using Yohimbine for about 3 weeks so I can't claim to have seen very noticeable results. Even after having used it for a while, it will be tough to determine how much of my success I can attribute to the supplement or to my training.Ê

This productÊmight be helping me lose fat, but I donÕt really know for sure because IÕm taking a lot of other supplements along with it. Also, the flavor is not really all that great, and I would rather mix this product into my juice than just water to keep from having to taste the bitterness. Furthermore, this product is a bit pricey. In addition, this productÕs label does not offer regimen support instructing just ÒanytimeÓÊas the dosage, and I donÕt even remember where I read that this powder is supposed to be dissolved in just plain water. Another type of this product that I tried before was labeled with heating instructions, but I donÕt think that this product is the same as that other one. Not really knowing, though, I just donÕt heat this product because I just donÕt want to and the label doesnÕt say to. Also, I donÕt know why I didnÕt have enough money to buy another packet of this product before running out of it. As a result, IÕm afraid that this productÕs manufacturer might have controlled me into not buying another packet of this product in spite of my attempts at purchasing another one just to make me ask for a free packet reviewing this product. How I was such controlled, however, is mysterious to me and frustrating, too, in my attempts at having enough money to buy enough food and massage. In addition, the supplied spoon is a tight squeeze inside the little bag making it hard to grab enough powder each time. As a result, I would rather take this product as a capsule if possible.
